Fabia vRS Towbar

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Now Im struggling to find a company that sells or fits towbars to the vRS, does anyone know if it is possible im assuming someone will make them.

Im looking preferably for a detachable so that I can hide it away and not spoil the look of the back end.

Any help gratefully appreciated

The vRS isn't type approved for towing so finding a towbar for the vRS specifically will be hard. I imagine one off a normal Fabia might fit if it's for a bike rack or something. But to tow trailers etc with them is going to invalid insurance and therefore be illegal.

As for who sells them I have no idea, sorry.

UK vRS's aren't type approved so its illegal to use if for towing. :(

its been a while but people have fitted normal fabia ones from skoda. Think a little cutting of the bumper is required.

I am having to sell my vRS as it is illegal to tow with it.

I teach people to tow trailers, so I cannot roll up at the VOSA test centre for a driving test in a car which cannot tow.

That's tough luck..........

Funny thing is a vRS from ireland can be used for towing.

So can car's like Deans above which have vRS internals in 'normal' body shells - the vRS estates etc.

It's odd, because the only difference is the rear valance, the wee bit of plastic on the bottom of the bumper. Which in itself is just bonded to the standard Fabia rear bumper

I never knew that the vrs wasn't approved for towing in the UK until today! Funny thing is, my mother has a vrs se and it has a removable towbar fitted by the dealer. I wouldn't have thought they would fit it if it was illegal. But hey this id a wierd word we live in! I was goin to steal it for my vrs bit I don't think ill bother now!
