There are only that many as the developers get a cut for every sale. Apple authorise very few free apps - usually only from big corps like Fedex, banks etc.

But as, IIRC, Apple have chnaged their temps and % they take most of the apps are now appearing cheaper, or for free, on Android Market and Ovi Store ;)

Loads of free apps, admittedly a lot of them are "lite" versions of paid apps that have a small advertising banner but there is lots and lots of good free stuff to download.

The sheer amount of apps for the iPhone should tell you something.

It tells me iphone users have more money than sense :giggle:

If you like your Gadgets and want a good phone, get an iPhone. If you want a business phone go for the Cackberry. ;)

I have spent all of about £10 on apps since i got my 3GS about 6 months ago. Many of them have been games or entertainment related. I did splash out another £26 on a sat nav app though. But when you weigh it up against buying a stand alone sat nav its good value imho.

By a long way, most of the apps i have ever downloaded have been free. Gotta love the lightsaber one. Worth getting an iPhone for
