Skoda accessory spare wheel

Featured Replies

Ive been after a spare for my Fabia on ebay, internet and here with no luck and have tried loads of scrapyards etc.

I rang a dealer to ask about getting a spare, they do one as an accesory, its £90 including a tyre. So I asked what size wheel it is, they said they didnt know.... I asked what size tyre, again they didnt know so I sked if it was a spacesaver and they said no but it might, just might be get you home at 50mph wheel :dull:

Now maybe Im old fashioned but I would have thought a dealer would know what Skoda are actually selling! I asked customer services over a week ago and they havent been bothered to reply. Great aftersales Skoda...

So, does anyone on here have one and exactly what do you get for your £90? If its a get you home then Ill spend the extra on an alloy and buy my own tyre.

I persuaded my dealer to give me a spare with mine in September. They supplied it with a 15" steel (195/55 tyre) which has yellow stikcers on to say max 50 mph!

I didn't ask where they got it from - was just grateful to have it - especially when a post snow pot hole in the dark gave me a puncture the other week.

Thanks for the info, I wonder why the 50mph though? Best start saving for an alloy I suppose :(

I've just ordered a 2010 Octavia Estate 1.9PD with a "fullsize" spare wheel option .

I'm curious to know what the speed rating letter is on your 195/55/15 "?" tyre . This is the last letter after the 15 on the tyre wall. I assume it's a normal speed rated tyre in which case it may be "T" , "H" or "V" . If it does have one of these letters its good for at least 110MPH ! Also who is the tyre manufacturer ?

To be honest I didn't look and the boots full ATM so I'll check and let you know someitme int he nxt few days.

As far as I could tell it was pretty much a standard tyre.
