re 1.8 TSI Breakdown,happy ending

We got our snowmonster back two days ago....

The repairing dealer said the problem we had encountered was twofold and a first for SUK technical dept.

Yeti's have twin fuel tanks, the pump on the secondary tank had failed and the pipe joining the two tanks also had a 'constriction'. The two togeather ment that basically the car ran out of petrol (in my case) as fuel in the reserve tank was not getting through to the primary tank and on to the engine, while the fuel guage was showing plenty. The service guys reckon that with all the on and off tow trucks etc enough fuel had got through to make the car fire up when it reached their workshop, thankfully that was just an aberation as snowmonster stopped again very quickly, enabling them to get proper readings from the 'CPU' (the RAC man -Skoda Assistance- had cleared the CPU in an attempt to re-start the car, although he had made notes of the readings).

So there you go, thankfully we're back on the road and hopefully it truns out to be a one off rogue event.

Many thanks for the feedback and glad to hear all is well again.

Regards,

TP
