Much prefer the merc wheels to the green ones, and the new rear badge looks good

You don't actually drive it round at that height do you?

Found this pic someone took at Detailed @ Awesome on Sunday.

Sensible ride height with some scope for steering (around the car park at any rate)? :) ...

Looking good Nick and with the shadows, looks like you have tints, much better :giggle:

Yes - its just my age..

oh you meant the car? :giggle:

ooppsss hahaha I mean will the rear of the car sit lower then normal as the rear of a combi is heavier then a sedan. More imptly are the coilovers built for a combi? I did face a problem in my forester when I use a suspension from a sedan wrx.

The rear of the car will sit at whatever height you want with coilovers. Adjusting the rears is really annoying once they're fitted though as there isn't really enough space to turn the C-spanner on the adjuster at the top of the spring.

Pi Sports Suspension (30mm drop) Fitted this week and 10mm Hubcentric Spacers on the rear:

Looks good - should have been like this from the factory IMO. Did you keep the OE dampers?

Did you measure the ride height before/after to work out exactly what drop you got?

OE Dampers still on

No.... but here is a picture taken at the same spot a year ago:

It doesnt look that different in the pictures but I can assure you it is

Looking at those comparison photos, maybe an effective 15-20mm drop, from the standard vRS levels?

Not that easy as the photos are taken at slightly different levels...

They should be 30mm when they settle down

It's whether it's -30mm from vRS ride height, or from the standard Octavia height.

That's the usual question anyway :)

Car is looking stunning Nick. Top work

Cheers mate. Some more big changes planned. Just made a purchase. :)

30mm from standard vRS height Steve

Picked these wheels up today, 2 are in good condition, 2 need a refurb,

Audi A8 flat fives/parabol's 18x8.5 ET45

Got 2 of them fitted with a set of 235/40/18 tyres to see how they look before going to the expense of a refurb and 2 more tyres!

The suspension hadn't fully settled as it was just a test fit, will look nice once it sits down a bit.....

Opinions please!

Like the chunky look of those alloys ....sweet !

Looks good ,look larger than 18.They are similar to the M1 superb ones

With 8.5 width and ET45, running 235 wide I might expect some rubbing on full lock....

I run 8J, ET43 225 wide with no issues - so you might get away with a 235 section tyre.

Well, I finally got the A8 flat fives fitted after having 2 of them refurbed!

The 235/40/18 tyres are perfect, no rubbing at all thankfully!

Here's a few shots from yesterday at a VAG show in Fermoy, Co. Cork.

I like that Mark. The 235s do work rather well with the chunky nature of the fat fives.

Thanks Nick, I had the same wheels on my mk4 Gti last year with 225/40 tyres but I didn't like the way the 225's sat on them and definitely didn't want 225's on the vRS with 8.5 wide wheels!
