From Octavia to Superb Mk2, a good idea?

Featured Replies

I am thinking of changing my octy2 elegance to a secondhand Superb2, but will be looking at the best way to maximise the return on my octy and hence get the smallest cost to change.

If I were to plump for a Elegance 2.0TDi, as the model to go for then I could obviously sell the following bits to get some money back..

Columus headunit,

Maxidot dashboard,

RS6 Replica wheels with 4 week old tyres,

Nokia phone kit.

If I were to go for the SE then I will need to retain the columbus and fit that in place of the Bolero, although I could sell the wheels.

Any thoughts, on which way to go.

A lot depends on the price premium of a used Elegance over a used SE, if that's not quoting the obvious.

You'll likely be able to claw a fair bit back on your MFD3 as people would more likely trust you as a seller than a Lithuanian ebay seller (bearing in mind lots of comments on other threads, which I do not necessarily agree with}, and the other bits come to that.

I presume you are looking at CR models as opposed to the PD ?

it would be the PD140 on the elegance, rather than the CR version which are a little outside the price range. Although I could manage a CR on the SE version.

I have seen a greenline 1.9PD TDi, but the lack of dualzone climate and weird stereo kind of put me off. It does have the multifunction steering wheel as an extra though.
