The only performance figures I can find are listed on P.232 of the Owner's Manual and P.15 of the Brochure.

0 - 62mph times are given as 16.5sec for the 70bhp engine and 14.7sec for the 80bhp engine.

o.k- well a few handheld timings for my 1.4TDi 70. I gleaned some figures fromthe Fabia II threads

measure (70/80 engines) - my findings - this was with 2.5 people in.

0-60 (16.5/14.7) - 14secs

30-70 through gears (?/15.4 Fabia) 12.5 secs

30-50 in 3rd (?/5.7 Fabia) 5 secs

50-70 in 4th (?/10 Fabia) 10.4 secs

50-70 in 5th (?/11.8 Fabia) 14.5 secs

so whats going on? It seems indecently quick low down! Does the Roomster have a low ratio gearbox in comparison to the Fabia? Have I had a quiet remap by the Skoda garage (it was a demonstrator, and thay now have a Mitsubitshi Ralliart sports franchise...!)

I know that the 1.9 and 1.4 use a different 'box (I think that the greenline uses the 1.9 'box if the gearing at 70 is anything to go by)... but it does look as though you have a quicker 70! Having said that, I don't think that you can compare hand held timings with the factory/magazine ones which are done with far more accurate equipment.

(Just an aside, but which half of the person did you have in the car, top half or bottom half?! )

If the dealer's been pratting about with it, and hasn't told you, he deserves to have his arse kicked as he will have put you in possible Queer Street with your insurer.
