Wheel bearing gone?

Featured Replies

How do you know when a wheel bearing's on the way out? I'm getting a loud droning sound when steering to the right, nothing when steering to the left and droning after a while steering straight!! Sound seems to be coming from the front of the car so tried to see if one front wheel was getting hot but nothing. Help!

Steering to the right, probably means your left bearing is failing.

I jacked my car up, but found zero play, but it makes a suitable noise! Was going to replace mine this weekend. I bashed a curb a week ago, and can't get the tracking right now either - tracks fine, but steering off as soon as you drive down the road. I did find that when jacking the car up the nearside front wheel was very stiff to turn in comparison to the offside.
