Getting the power down

Featured Replies

My opinion is it is just the state of the roads this time of year - the residual from the brown cr@p they insist on chucking on the road at the merest hint of a chilly night lasts for weeks. once we've had a bit of rain to wash it away and the roads dry off properly things will be different. I have Goodyear F1 Assymetrics on the front with full polybush and it is a nightmare this time of year.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. They are merely ok until you press on a bit and then they let you down. Just out of interest, which 200sx did you have?

Sorry can't remember the proper number but it was a 98, My daughter still has'nt forgiven me for swapping it for the Octavia - despite the fact that she could no longer sit in the back. Nice car but expensive to run as it wanted servicing every 6 months. When they got to 99 cars they only needed servicing once a year. My point about the P6000's was that they appeared to be much better on the Nissan, but as this was over 7 years ago now its possibly irrelevant anyway :giggle:

Yeah I think I just need to accept the limitations of the tyres I suppose and try to adjust my driving style.

I keep hearing about dogbone mounts/bushes etc. What does the dogbone do and how would it help? I've heard people mentioning increased vibrations after changing the dogbone or bushes (one or the other anyway)

The dog bone bush needs to be fitted correctly mate, most people that experience lots more vibration have normally over tightened them. they need to be at the correct torque and yes there is still a bit of noise but you will get ued to it and after a few 00 mile it beds in too.

All in all it will keep the engine from moving around as much and in turn lessen wheel hope so allowing the wheels to stay on the ground longer. I personally wouldnt get a bigger FARB as the car understeers as it is, just get a nice 22 mm adj RARB or 25mm one or even the Neuspeed 28mm RARB and youll find it a lot more controled i the corners. Whiteline 22 and 25 mm bars are around 160 mark and the neuspeed is 250 ish + lol,

Best handling mod you can do!

Cannt decide which next. Big turbo or LSD first.

Have the brakes for a big turbo.

How much does a LSD change the car?

the lsd transforms the car to a new level

you can only go around corners so fast big or small turbo lol

its a must you can get on the power so early and it sticks like **** to a blanket ( unless on ice  )
