Vrs squeek!

Featured Replies

I have an 06 vrs with 22000 on the clock. Whenever i go round left hand bends the there is a loud squeel from the brakes on the front drivers side. It also squeels when I'm breaking. i had the driverside front wheel bearing replaced a month ago, but the squeel was there before that. I was just wondering what it could be?

Brakes need cleaning and copper slip applied to the BACK of the pads.

Could also be the carrier. Might need changing.

It still sounds like a combination of wheel bearing and a pad issue to me.

The fact that you had the bearing changed does not mean that they did

it right.....

I had the same issue when i took it to kwik fit to have the pads replaced... they used cheapo crap pads that squealed everytime i turned left. Took it back, got them to replace with stock parts... that they then screwed up the fitting on but thats another story, cured my squeals though

I havn't actually checked anything out yet, just wanted a few ideas before i started!! They only started squeeking after a rowdy country road thrash when a GT Tdi came up behind me!! I wasted him and he wasn't pleased. I thought it may be related to the glowing brakes i had when i got home, possibly a cracked pad? That happened to my old astra after getting a bit heavy with the left foot!!! lol

Plus brake fade coming up to a 90 degree left hander at 110mph is fookin scary!! lol
