coilover setting up on fab vrs

Featured Replies

have been running coilovers for about six months now, tyres are wearing out nice and evenly but still seems to understeer too much.

it got me thinking does anyone know the corner wieghts of the fabia vrs, so i could roughly offset the weight by adding or dropping a few turns on the coilovers. ie to get a 50/50ish weight distribution

to try and get rid of a bit of understeer and get a more balanced car

any ideas and help will be much apprieciated.:)

cheers

not sure about the weights, obviously the car is a bit front end heavy so getting rid of understeer wont be easy.

try fitting the seat sport strut brace. stiffens the front end up a lot, but it still doesnt erradicate the understeer.

you will never get rid of the understeer,i went to massive lengths on mine to get it to corner properly but it never did,the peloquin diff helped a lot but still didn't cure it

to be fair you drove like a nutter! :p

At the front the bias left/right is probably fairly even. The gearbox weighs down the nearside, but then the engine is not central, so I believe it counters that out. Be interested to know the results if someone drove on to 2 scales (heavy duty ones obviously) with each front wheel and see the readout.

i know you cant eliminate understeer, but do the rear arb's make that much diffrence to the way the car turns in.

that was the best mod i did to my fabia, but it didn't cure the problem completly, tho it did help quite a bit,the rear arb needs to come off tho as the rear tends to snap away on turn in rather than progresivly break away

Have you tried putting the back seats down?
