Wear Windscreen Washer

Featured Replies

Right.

Seeing as the girlfriend is away I thought i'd tackle a few fabia problems she's having. I sealed the rear doors with the help of her little brother yesterday. I think we managed to ruin all 14 of the clips

But i dried up the footwell and thought i'd check for leakage as the rear washer is a bit sluggish.

I pulled the back plastic away - and the connector that goes up the rear wheel arch is connected, but it's very loose, so each time the thing squirts, loads goes down into the footwell.....I read a few guides on here and i've got no idea how i could go about fitting cable ties to it.

Is there anything else you can do with it? Does the dealer have a new connector to fix it? THe only thing i can think of is superglue....

HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLP!

Anyone got any help/advice. Not sure what's going on with the joint. Under the bonnet and behind the fog light I've managed to fix before. However this joint feels loose and leaks the water.... :S

Might be wrong; but I think that the connector is the weak link in the system. So that when the liquid freezes, the connectors give instead of splitting the pipe. I reconnected the very same today. Gave it a real good push together. Would be careful using superglue.

I know the connectors are the weak point in the system and they're meant to pop off should they freeze.

It just doesn't seem to want to sit together nicely and leaks into the bloody footwell :'(

How about Self Amalgamating Tape?????? :p

I think the dealerships have some sort of spring that they can link between the two ends to make a more secure connection, but make sure you push hard enough because I have found that they are really stiff to go together and when they do you get a reassuring click.

the other technique I have seen is a cable tie around each end of the pipes and another cable tie linking the two if you know what I mean so it effectivley locked together.

Brilliant - that's what I was imagining earlier. I'll give the garage a ring in the morning to see if they've got a new 'part' thing for it.

Just been out to check mine, as ive noticed condensation in the car and my rear drivers side footwell is soaking wet. is the rear wash pipe on the drivers side? if not this is more likely a leaky door seal in my case. sorry for the slight thread hijacking.

Tbh i'd just check it to make sure this isn't partially the cause.

Passenger rear door. Pull the bottom part of the seat forward, then the back out of it's locking mechanism. THen there's a piece of plastic with 2 studs in it. Just give it a yank and it'll come away.

Then do a bit of rear screen washing and then have a feel around the black pipe. It leaks there then goes and sits in the footwell.

If it;s driver rear for you you're lucky, 99% of the rear passenger ones go first. I know the three we've got have:D

Rear passenger side I believe. Going to have to check mine to try identify the source of a leak.

Does this car belong to Elmor Fudd? 'Oh Dat Wabbit'

Didn't know a Fabia had a Wear Windscreen Wiper
