Featured Replies

Just bought a set of 18" alloys that need two front tyres I was going to get two part worns but can't get the same size as the rears and so far three people have told me you can have a two different ones on the front ????? The rears are 225/40/18 and I was offered 225/45/18 or 225/35/18 for the front is this right I have always had same size tyres all round

I wouldnt recommend it mate,

It can screw with the ASR or similar system I do believe. also it will increase / decrease your rolling radius.

Too large anyway 18 are for octavia not fabia . It will be like setting off in Third gear, sorry mate

Notwithstanding VRSyme's profile showing a Fabia vRS, he now owns an Octavia II hence this query.

The Owner's Manual says: Only fit radial tyres of the same type on all 4 wheels, size (rolling circumference) and, if possible, the same tread pattern on one axle.

If you ignore that and fit different size tyres on the front to those on the back, I think you may have ABS problems, ie the system cutting in when it wouldn't otherwise.
