superb estate

It probably wont help the decision making, but they also do a light blue metallic - Aqua I think its called. Its not in the brochure, but one of the dealers in Manchester have an estate demonstrator in. They didnt know about the colour until it turned up!

Ive seen that its quite nice!

I have mine on order in Aqua Blue. Dealer took the order OK, then phoned later in the day to say it wasn't in the brochure. I pointed him to the online Combi brochure, where it does appear, and some photos previously posted on here. Later confirmed it was available...

Oddly, on the Skoda website when you look at colours sometimes Aqua Blue shows, other times not - seems to depend where you link from. Pretty poor marketing really

Ordered 13 March, estimated 10 to 12 weeks to delivery - Elegance 140CR

Dealer told me about this colour before I ordered mine, but without seeing it for myself would not risk it. Having now seen 1 I am kinda sorry did not go for it as it looks really good.

But I am sure I will be just as happy with my Platin Grey when it gets here. (with luck an April 1st collection :))

So no one is considering "Amethyst Purple metallic" ?

I kind of like it, so I went for it. I hope I will not be sorry, becouse this Platin Grey does look good, but it's more casual, so I want for something different ...

I decided for me that I would never order a new car for me with an Amethyst purple Colour as long as I like women only.

If you are talking about the word "purple" you might have a point, but the color itself in live looks like a metallic silver-brown.

It depends on the angle the light hits the varnish. I saw one here at the dealer. And it was definitly some kind of light purple.

But its just a really personal opinion.

Hmm... Interesting. I saw one outside on a cloudy day. Defenitly looked like a silver-brown to me. But then again, as you pointed out, even on several pictures it does look a little different. As I said, I just hope I will like it when I get it!

I've also gone for the amethyst purple. It was the colour of the model that I tested and I have to say that I really like it. I would agree that it doesn't look as puple as in the photographs and is more metallic silver/grey with a hint of brown or purple. I went for a black/black interior and just felt that it was a good combination and different than all the grey and silver cars that are around at the moment.

The only thing that I'm not happy about is the color of the seats. Like you, I wanted all black/black intrior, but it was said to me, that the problem is with the seats, which can only be black/grey in Ambition, other interior can be black/black ...

Any similar problems anybody?

... and different than all the grey and silver cars that are around at the moment.

Thats one of the reasons I've ordered mine in Amethyst as well. I saw one in a dealer showroom after I'd ordered it & as digidoctor says, even indoors it looks a different colour from the front than it does from the back - all down to the angle of the light.

BTW digidoctor - I did laugh at your comment earlier - my wife saw an ad for this colour in a paper & she now calls it my 'Tarts pimp-mobile' ! It was a shocking colour in the paper which is why I tracked one down in the dealer. I think the vid on the Autoexpress site shows the amethys colour. I'll have to wait until mid May to see it for real though.

URL for the vid http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/videos/featuresvideos/249235/skoda_superb_estate.html (found by someone else on here - I take no credit)

Apparently Northampton Ambulance have a Superb Estate as a rapid response car. I've not seen it myself but SWMBO says they are proudly displaying it outside the ambulance station on Mearway when not rushing off to pick up drunks in it and it looks the dogs in all the hiviz and light bars.
