It's wintertime - Bigtime! -,so lets talk about the Sun(roof)

This is my second Felicia. :smirk:

Got it very cheap (car pricing in DK is times 2 or 3 what you have in UK ! (SUCKS!) and practically nothings allowed. Dreaming about a Kitcar in DK ??? Forget it !)

This little Felicia came with a sunroof. The glass-kind with to small curtains.

The curtains are with some small defects.

One curtain lacks the hook to stay in rolled out position.

The other curtain wont roll back properly, but has 5 - 7 cm hanging out and dangling.

I think I can fix the missing hook, with something better than the original. Looks like its just some plastic-thingy in a slot in the plastic-handle.

But the curtain that wont roll back... ?

Is it possible to remove the curtains, without dismantling the sunroof ? (snowing a LOT these days...)

I have not seen these in the UK on Felicias, however I have seen these curtains on other cars. I would imagine that removing the inner plastic trim from around the sunroof, inside the car, would allow access to these.

I have them on a spare favorit sunroof (windy handle type). I am guessing this is the Felicia poppy uppy sunroof? Think they're just to help keep bugs and leaves out if you have the roof open. On mine the curtains are integrated into the sunroof unit so it looks like you need to replace the entire unit. To try get the other bit reeling in I would treat it as a seatbelt. I.e. clean it, pull it out a few times to try encourage it to reel back in. If all else fails I'd pull them out and chop them off :)

Looking at things in daylight helps :)

The curtains are fastened at the rearedge of the sunroof (windy type, yes).

Opening the sunroof and looking at the rearedge from outside, shows some screwed on plasticcovers covering the curtains.

Think it some very tine PZ's...

Have to find a tool no longer than 5 cm cause of the glasplate part of the soonroof, or an angled tool...

So either I can fix the existing or have to visit a scrapyard.

Thanks for the reply's !

I can't help with fixing the sunroof, but if you're looking for screwdrivers that short, look in Yellow Pages (or equivalent if you're abroad) for "tool factors". Find one, and ask them about "obstruction screwdrivers", and be prepared to be asked about the nature of the obstruction.

If it's similar to the Favorit sunroof the glass can easily be removed by pushing forward a metal tab in front of the handle. Mine is clearly different to yours though as I can't find any screws near the blind housing, otherwise I'd have taken it off and had a look inside.

Interesting !

Makes it easier to get to the small srews !!!

When I find time to fight my way through the piles of snow, the polarbears and the seals..., I'l give it a go and take a picture of it.

And it was extremely simple !

Located at the winding-handle, just under the glass..., is a small tab.

Pull it, and I could lift off the complete glassroof.

Adjusted the curtains, and now everything is good :-)

But it also shows, that if the sunroof is opened, so you can get a finger inside, then ANYBODY can remove the glass.

Don't park the car and forget to close the roof !!!
