its 003 control module error

Is that the steering wheel control module?

If so, then its under the steering column below all of the covers.

Theres a small T4 Torx screw iirc that holds the front of the module, it then unclips away from the column.

Then theres a couple of connectors that need unplugging.

Refitting is opposite of removal.

I will add a note that some of the clips can be quite arkward to get apart and are quite easily broken.

I would think your going to need to get intouch with someone who's got VAG-COM to reprogram the module, if you decide to have a go at it yourself.

Otherwise a good independant specialist or dealer shouldn't have a problem sorting it.

Id actually assumed that there was some kinda module that controls the the dahsboard display where the odo is thats apart of the actual instrument panel not whats shown in your picture, or does that module control the odo too? sorry im confused.

other that the 003 control module error it didnt go into specifics :S

I've got a maxidot dashpod to go in my car, when powered up it shows 24k. Where the original clocks in my car has 142k, this is what confused me slightly.

As i think the clocks may actually have there own module, which may mean your clocks have gone funny.

I thought if it was related then it may have been helpful to post a pic and explanation.

Ive got a spare 2005 non maxidot TDi dashpod available but I dont have the SKC for it. I know that shark_90 can extract the SKC, and sort it to work if you need a replacement cluster.

Hi

Has anyone come up with a fix for this issue?

Ive just bought a 2006 Octavia tdi vrs and a few days ago the battery completely died on it,  to the point were nothing worked not even the key fob to unlock it. Anyway I stuck a new battery on it and fired it up, lots of lights on the dash as you would expect. They all cleared after a drive up the road however...

When you put the key in the ignition now I get ERROR by the mileage if you press the mileage button it goes out and the mileage is displayed?

Ive run a scan and it comes back with 00003 - Control module, it doesn't clear when I try to clear it....

Any ideas?
