Now that I've just passed the end of my warranty period its bloody typical that the DPF light has come on!!!

I've forced a regen and got rid of it but I've got a niggling suspicion that I'm going to be seeing it again soon!!!

I'd be grateful for any feedback from anyone who has gone down the DPF removal route and would love an idea of costs and who does it.

I'm in Leeds but happy to travel if costs vary significantly.

I'm currently running with a remap from Angel so I'm not expecting huge power and torque gains over that but would like to see better MPG.

What car have you got, I assume VRS but the 4x4 's have DPF's as well

The Remap may be making things worse, I believe Revo may have stopped offering remaps on the PD170 VRs & are possibly stopping researching DPF removal although I understand there may be others looking at it or already offering it.

Im sure someone must have done it by now & will be able to advise on the whos, wheres & how much.

JBS in chesterfield offer a DPF off service, it consists of a new miltek downpipe minus DPF and a remap that has the DPF mapped out. Total cost was about 1K so it aint cheap. I also believe several other tuners including awesomegti are also able to offer this service for simillar price.

We can do the software side of things and our customers usually modify the original downpipe and remove the DPF from it.

Talk to me, is it difficult to modify the downpipe? I've got a friendly exhaust man who may be able to help. Am I likely to see gains in power and MPG? Costs?
