How often do you replay the Top Gear race? ;)

Nobody has yet posted about how the vRS needs to be 'slammed'... Is everyone feeling alright?! :giggle:

OP - nice Fabia man, not too sure about the shiny black wheels up close though, think they'd look better if they were matt.

Loving the Fabia. Never really liked new cooper, too many estate agents and hairdressers have them! Lol

Nice car, like the centre caps on the wheels.

Yes i do admit it needs to be lower and id love it if it was lower, but i purchased some Apex 40mm springs the other day, took it to the garage to have them fitted and after an hour the guy rang me and said he'd had the wheels off and a look round the suspension, and the apex springs looked longer than the ones already on it, would this be because the apex springs will just compress more once they are on the car. obviously i dont fancy shelling out the cash for swaping them if they are going to be no better/lower than the others. if anyone can shed light on this i would much appriciate it :)

As for the wheels, they went in to be coloured anthracite or matt black then suddenly decided i wanted gloss black, and im so glad i did i love them :) obviously not to your taste Big Mikey but that why we do things different right? dont want every car looking the same do we

thanks dude, the centre caps came off ebay and just went on the original caps after i removed the skoda covers :)

it does do a good job of illustrating how slow and understeery a Fabia vRS is

Yet it still beats the lighter, smaller, more expensive mini/bmw.

Goes to show the mini wouldn't stand a snowballs chance in hell

if the fabia actually handled well too.

When the Apex & OEM springs are off and both uncompressed, the Apex are indeed longer, but they compress a lot more, so dont worry, it will be lower.

Just a bit bouncy as per your other thread :)

but you can buy a MINI that's got more power than a Fabia vRS and handles better than the Cooper in the video. you can't make a Fabia vRS handle like a MINI ONE

On the Apex question, best thing to do is take the part number from them, and get Apex to confirm

But yes, it does need more lowerage :)

The Fifth Gear shootout is a good comparison between the Fabia vRS and Mini Cooper.

I've always thought of the Mini as a 2nd car as it's so impractical. If you've got 2 6ft+ adults in the front then it's basically a 2 seater.

it's still only a weeny bit quicker than a Cooper, but you're not wrong about the back of a MINI, they're pretty damn titchy and nothing like as practical as the Fabia

Do you have a Mini?

You seem to know alot about them lol

I don't need to own a MINI to have travelled in one and know how cramped they are in the back  my comments about performance of the Cooper in comparison to the vRS were more aimed towards the video(s) compairing the MINI Cooper to the Fabia vRS which people seem to link to/comment about roughly once a week and are accurate; the Fabia vRS was only a weeny bit faster than a (slow) MINI Cooper

:)
