Converting a Movie clip to a Photo ?

Featured Replies

Guys,

Does anyone know if its possible to convert parts of an avi video clip to a jpeg so they can be developed as photos. Instead of taking photos someone put the camera on video mode. Is it okay to pause and take stills ?

Yer you can port it through your PC then you can use Moviemaker 2 which comes free with windows XP to take snapshots of the video, but the quality wouldn't be very good cause the resolution of DV video etc is still not brilliant.

or just use print screen when you get to the part you want and cut down the file in paint.

Unfortunately the print screen key doesn't work as video played back in windows is in an overlaid window (via directx), all you'll get from print sceen is a screen of black when you paste...

Perhaps the movie maker in Windows XP can take individual frames from an AVI and save them?

I managed to stumble across this earlier, I see what you mean about bad quality.

Thanks all
