2.0 vRS review

Featured Replies

Excellent review of latest FL vRS 2.0 in today's Sunday Express. Well worth a read.

Where are the low rent plastics?

Journo's haven't got a clue. Same engine as the GTI but detuned, er no - its the same engine as the previous Mk5 GTI (in exactly the same tune) where the new Mk6 GTI gets a newer engine. Idiots.

Erm... no.

Both are using TSI engines, not TFSI (since FSI has been scrapped), the GTI just gets 10bhp more.

Babs - much as i hate to 'argue' on an internet forum, your statement is not correct.

The Skoda uses the same EA113 engine as the Mk5 Golf Gti rated at 200PS.. the Mk6 GTI uses a new engine EA888 rated at 210PS.

Where are the low rent plastics?

Just getting the thread back on topic - i actually find the GOLF mk6 plastics around the console infront of the gear lever to be inferior to the skoda.. who'd have thought it!

They both look the same to me. The new one's got the latest engine cover

Hey all, i'm patiently waiting for a TFSI RS Wagon, its waiting for a rather large boat i think. I have been doing months of research via Briskoda and any publication i can read. I've read a couple of articles on the RS facelift TFSI engine and they have stated that its new engine in the GTI VI just a few KW short however. The Journos here have been critical of Skoda for not making this point obvious in marketing the RS petrol wagon. I believe the Golf V GTI engine was adapted for direct injection where as the series 6 GTI motor has been designed for direct injection and the Current RS is from the same current family of engines.

I'm no expert it just what I've read, thought i'd throw into the debate anyway.
