Fabia Sedan Woes

Featured Replies

Right my 2002 Fabia Sedan seems to be falling apart around me, I have a list of faults I need advice on, right I will begin:

1 - The most worrying, I have a vibration through the accelerator pedal and at a higher rev range, I get the feeling in's the dual mass flywheel and/or clutch, any ideas?

2 - Coolant light randomly comes on, coolant level is fine and the gauge is always in the middle and the coolant is circulating?

3 - Passanger electric window goes down fine but will net go up on its own, with assistance it will but some times drop down further when you try to put it up?

4 - Drivers electric window does not always work, a few movements of the switch then its fine

5 - Service Indicator, yes I have done a search on here and I do not have a owners manual for the car! I have done the reset as shown on the Fabia downloaded manual and all I get is 3 lines where the "OIL" or "INSP" was then it goes back to "INSP", cannot seem to reset it!

6 - Anti roll bar and bushes are shot, lots of noise over pot holes ect ( I know what's wrong with it just wanted to add to this fantastic list lol)

I think that is everything at the moment and for now!

Pic of the offending vehicle :)

Advice please and thank you in advance!

1 - No idea - balancing? Or is it relative to revs, not speed?

2 - Do a search - it's a common issue, usually solved by changing the coolant expansion tank as the sensor and foul up. Might be possible to clean it with something, search should show more.

3 - Can get jammed or fall of the 'runners'. Mine became wonky after ramming itself into my arm (long story) and would need help going up. When going up on it's own it used to roll back on its own (anti-trap feature). Twisting it in the frame and lubricating the bit on the door frame it runs up twisted it.

4 - New switch? - £20 on eBay or a breakers yard..

5 - No idea.

6 - You know that one yourself!

Nice looking Lupo there too. Is it the GTi? Always liked them.

Cheers for the reply dude, the vibration is more rev's related.

I will look into getting a new coolant bottle and electric window switch!

Haha it's not a lupo dude, it's a Seat Arosa 1.4 16v Sport ( It does look like a lupo to be fair) That's my baby :)

Not heard of the flywheel going on the 1.4's before, but I'm sure it's possible. Also suspect someone with more specific knowledge will be along soon.

I think the sensor and bottle come as one unit, but best check beforehand.

Ah my bad, the Lupo in your user name made me think it was a Lupo. Looks nice either way. :)

Yeah that's what I was thinking but it can me the only thing, checked everything else!

The coolant bottle has the sensor built in so it will be a new bottle!

As for my user name I picked it because I use to work at Volkswagen Racing and my first dub was a Lupo! :)
