Fabia misc problems

Featured Replies

I`m a proud owner of a skoda fabia 1.4 mpi 2002. But i`m tired to find a solution for the only 2 problems of my car.

The first problem is that sometimes the car don’t recognize my key (any of my three keys) and pop the immobilizer light in the dash, and of course the engine don`t start. When i plug the vag-com the fault code is something about the switch pick up coil. There is no replace part for that in the dealer.

The other issue is that sometimes all is working great and suddenly the coolant level warning pop-up when that happens the gas gage drop dead, and then i can`t travel trough dash features.

Please any help, i don’t know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fault 1: Reader coil for key is a spare part, so try a better dealer

Fault 2: Bad connection dash insert or voltage control unit

In fact Fault One may also be due to the bad connection on the dash insert, as the immobilizer is routed through the dash insert panel.

Thanks a lot; i never heard about the voltage control unit where that`s located? With the bad connection dash insert you are telling me to unplug and plug all the dash connections, maybe use some contact cleaner?

Voltage control unit is behind drivers side parcel shelf.

I would scan the car for fault codes before pulling the dash panel out. Apart from the connector, the most common fault is the panel itself, which is non repairable.
