celtic tuning ----------------- remaps

Featured Replies

has anyone used celtic tuning for their remap

cannot find anything bad about them apart from some optomistic figures

my mate has all the tuning software now so it is only £150 to buy a map and install it yourself

he is doing his 2.2 diesel civic in the morning

will let you know how he gets on

they are quoting 265 bhp at the engine and 230 bhp plus at the wheel for a octy vrs

Modified Torque (lb/ft) 281

I think things like this have been discussed to death on here and 265 just for a map on an Octy vRS is never going to happen. :giggle:

thats what i am thinking , 230 bhp maybe but not 260 bhp

Search for a name and turbo failure on here and I think you might find something.

i had a celtic remap on my previous car (ford focus 2.0tdci) and the map was so badly done that i had it re-done by another tuner. celtics maps seem to be set to deliver a large torque spike at the start of the rev range and then tail off from there. this made it difficult to put down the power in the wet and expensive as i quickly needed a new clutch. i would say stay well clear and pay out a bit more with some one else. i just had my octy vrs mk2 remapped my Jabbasport and the car now drives excellently.

That was one option, but I was thinking of the a company name that the OP may have posted :)

You won't get anywhere near 265hp from the VRS with K03S turbo.

Software only can give you approx 220hp and 240lbs/ft torque. Add a turbo back exhaust and you can see 235hp and 260lbs/ft torque.

If you check our forum section, we are currently holding a group buy for Briskoda members making the P-Torque stage 1 remap just £225.00 all in with dyno power runs before and after with print out.

I'm pretty sure he is talking about a Mk2 Octavia vRS and not the Mk1. Not that it matters of course.

Thanks Hedge!

In that case, 240hp is realistic from software only and 260 - 270hp when paired with custom software and turbo back exhaust :)

hello p torque you did my civic type s diesel for me at wombourne , 1st new shape civic you had done but at the time your rr was out of order but i got to say your map was great

you said at the time i would possibly achieve 30 bhp more , celtic are saying a 55bhp hike to my friend , i find this a little optomistic again.

he has been sent 4 maps today and not one of them will go on his car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so he is a little disapointed

i will point him in your direction and i may have my mk2 octy done as well

my mate has finally installed the map he bought from celtic tuning after having the map altered around 5 times

but to be fair he is dead happy with it now , i think he should rolling road it now at p-torque and find out what figures he would get has celtic where saying 195 bhp up from 138 standard on his civic diesel

I have had one remap by Celtic (first Fabia vRS) and 3 done on different cars by Will at Performance Torque. More than happy to make the trip to P-Torque for the service and of course the excellent results, and have recommended the same to friends who have not been disappointed.

You can make a RR read whatever you want, the only way to see the gains are before and after runs on the same RR, the Mk1 "Bum" Dyno is prone to the placebo effect so can't be relied on :)

I had my 05 Fabia VRS done with a celtic remap, and with the pd160 intake, air filter and a tank full of shell diesel vpower it made 185bhp at Motoscope in Northallerton, after they claimed 190bhp. No issues except a clutch after 2 years of std and 2 yrs of remaps, which I didn't think was unusual for a remapped car.

The car was a bit of an animal to drive over the standard but the wife still managed to return 52-55mpg on her daily drive with a mixture of motorway and a road driving.

had a celtic map on my bora pd150 and was pants, really spikey deliever and smoked like a bitch,i wouldnt go near them again, will mapped my vrs and more than happy,p-torque all the way baby.

My 05 Fabia vRS was mapped by Celtic Tuning...blew the turbo after 10,000 miles being mapped

Shifty ??? :wonder:

Hey mate, that's was on the Fabia, one or two others on here had Fabia turbo failure's also whilst fitted with a Celtic map. Graham is a nice bloke, but I think the maps, or at least back then - stink. I actually had 2 turbo's fail.

There is only one man I trust mapping, because i know car's he has done, including my old one - Richard Washbrook - Oscarli. I'm quite sure there are other competent tuners out there, but he gets my vote every time.
