You must have used the wrong network key at a guess.

Use a spare ethernet cable and go back into the router and check your key

how do i get the right network key? serched through my stuff and cant see one writen down anywhere?

It will be in the router set up pages under wireless setting(or similar)

You need too log back in too the router too find these pages, which if you can't connect via wireless you will need a cable in.

thanks for ya help matey. ill try that when i get home.

RTFM, lol, that made me laugh, used to say RTFQ to the lads before they sat and did exams....

Anyhoo....

Youll need to plug your computer in by ethernet cable as you have been directed, look for wireless settings then security...

Youll have to decide between WEP and WPA, now, I can break WEP in about 8 mins, so avoid, its total crap...

WPA is what you want, itll ask you what type of key you want, so just put in your own.

After thats saved go to your laptop, goto your wireless settings and search for your wireless network. When found try to connect, it should ask you for the WPA pass key that you have put on your rotuer, if it doesnt, go into your wireless network connection properties on the laptop, and update the settings with your wireless' name and passkey atfer that retry connecting...

We used to use -"TAVM" - but that was teleprinter speak .

But seriously -i've got a micradigital router ,with Virgin cable ,and at times it can be a pain .Removing the router to work through the Virgin modem is easy - getting the router back on is a work of art - I've found , shut down PC , SHUT DOWN MODEM ,SHUT DOWN ROUTER . Set output of modem to WAN on Router ,and Lan1 to PC .Switch on modem ,wait one ,then switch on router ,wait one ,then reboot PC .tHEN WAIT TILL THEY ALL HANDSHAKE .
