I like Silver! Besides I had to do the deal the quicky and it was the only DSG estate available in the system at the time.

Nice car looks good in silver

Like it! I've gone for silver too but I've still got a few weeks to wait. Would be great to see some m ore pics. once you've picked it up.

Did you get the optional bump strips as you know SWMBO might insist on driving occasionally?

:D

that aside, nice car. Welcome to the club.

Good choice on the colour, many pictures of mine Here

You are going to love it, only one thing, if it has Dunlop sport Maxx's fitted, start looking for new tyres as they do not last............ :o

Silver is easily the best colour for any Octavia. I recently posted saying that race blue is the best colour for a vRS, but i retract that. I've just bought an old mint '54 plate silver Elegance to replace my sport as my taxi and it looks great. Had a look at another in Sahara beige, but it was horrible compared to the silver.

Your car looks excellent, bet you can't wait to get going.

or grip in the wet

or grip in the wet

or the snow, I have had a nightmare with them in the white slippery stuff, I got caught out this weekend when we had the deluge in Derbyshire of snow, I needed to be in the Peak district for 9:30 Sun morning, woke up at 7:30, realised i needed my snow tyres on, only had time to put on the fronts, (yeah, I know).

I spent the next 2 hours in the car tail happy, not had this much fun since my mark II escort days.

Seriously though, the Dunlop Sport Maxx's really are crap...........

Ordered only 3 weeks ago and it's here already?! Life's not fair :giggle: I'm jealous.

I agree about the Dunlop Sport Maxx when I drove a demo, terrible tyre

However some VRS's have been fitted, like mine, with the newer Dunlop Sport Maxx GT. IMO they are much better with excellent grip even in the wet.

Apparently they are based on the Goodyear F1 Assymetric

Jase, nice pale silver, almost looks white from certain angles/lighting.

Only 3 weeks waiting ? Not fair !

Enjoy.

Really nice looking car that, looks great in silver.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

It still had the protective covering on the roof and bonnet when I took the pics which make it look more "white" than it actually is I think.

I got lucky with the delivery time, it was already built and in Germany when I ordered it, it's not completely the spec I would have had but pretty close. I would have liked Bluetooth and heated seats as well but ou can't always have everything eh?!

I pick it up 5pm on Monday, I haven't been this excited about getting a new car for ages! :giggle:

I've just checked the pics that I took and it's got Dunlop Sport Maxx GT's on it, are these a better tyre?

Glad I opted for silver roof rails now, looks nice though...

To be fair though, most non-all season or winter tyres are rubbish in the snow. My company Saab had Michelins on (sorry, can't remember the model), and they were good in the wet and the dry, but shocking in the snow...

My gripe with the Dunlops on mine is how bad they are in the wet, these were the standard fit tyres on a car sold in the UK, they really should have been tyres which worked in the rain...

Interesting comments about the Maxx Sport GT being a better tyre than the Maxx Sport, one of my colleagues said his Maxx Sport TT tyres were pretty good, just looked at the Dunlop website and there are 3 types of Maxx Sport... Will double check mine when I go out later and see which ones I've got

EDIT:

Have now checked, I have the Maxx Sport GT on my vRS, so if they're the decent ones I'm bloody glad I didn't get the standard ones...
