Furby nose job

Featured Replies

Well its finally finished for now.

I may try out different badge combos in the future.

I have brand new OEM replacements for both badges if I change my mind.

The badge I have on is an engine cover badge modified to fit the curve. (took ages,,,)

I have inlaid the V badge with carefully cut satin black vinyl.

I think its like a Custom OEM look. Please give your opinions.

(P.S.

Tomorrow I'm popping my mean green Seat strut brace on.

Pics tomorrow. in my recent thread about the strut brace.)

Thanks for the compliment. The engine cover badge was about £7.50 from the main dealer.

Be sure to order the black one from the earlier model. 1Z0 103 940 D Is the part number I think but check that.

The V badge is the original one already on the car inlaid with satin black vinyl. I did this myself... Using a scalpel.

The carbon wrap is a long story, First heard about it on here via a member called si-vxr I did some research and

managed to source the vinyl myself via a signwriter friend of mine who offered to do the work for free. Once he saw how

floppy it went when heated he bottled out of doing the job. More research got me in touch with another member on here called

iantype-r  who has a detailing business in Lincoln. Heres his link. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Auto-Elite-Detailing/244494057063?ref=ts

He offers this service for £40 for Brisky members plus whatever your own preferred method of posting costs. PM him for more details.

In the end I got him to do it and am very happy with the finish He turned mine around in a week, I used royal mail special delivery each way and it cost about

£7 each way on top. I also supplied him with a proper front badge which he fitted for me, I changed it a week later for the black one.

I'll take a pic tomorrow for you while I'm getting a few snaps for my other thread.

Looks cool

Looking good.

Maybe I'm getting old, but mods like this really aren't my bag. However, the badges are tasteful and look to be well executed. On it's own it would probably pass for OEM. The carbon fibre wrap on the grill looks very aftermarket and a bit cheap. If you like it though, then great, enjoy!

I was originally all set to go and get the grille painted.

I thought the vinyl wrap would be

A. more durable than paint.

B. if or when I tire of it I can carefully peel it off and restore it to OEM

C. fancied having the first black vrs with this mod.

This way I get the black grille I wanted and I can change it back.

Thanks to you all for your comments so far.

Cool :) Liking the grill and the VRS logo... skoda logo looks a bit dark though? May look like its missing when you drive by. Think it'd look much better if it was just black and white, without the chrome outer

I rearly quite like this fella, hmmm i wonder what it would look like on blue?

Sorry mate, Now I'm confused Grr

There is no white... If you mean at the far right of the V logo

then thats just a reflection. It's just chrome like the outer.

Was toying with the idea of popping it off and spray painting it

matt black. Chrome outer and all then re-fitting. I like the dark badge.

It's kind of what I wanted... Sort of stealth stylee...

Was comparing it to the stock one with the chrome outer not yours matey ;) Imagine the stock one without the chrome, all black apart from the centre logo and writing in white
