Nurburgring Insurance cover

Featured Replies

Do any UK insurers include or offer as an option, specialist cover for trips to the ring as part of a road policy?

I doubt you'll find any at the moment.

Not many insurers want to cover the huge risks of UK drivers potentially causing pile-ups involving ££££s of cars and bikes, ok this scenario could happen on the road but the risk of it happening on the Ring is a lot higher

Don't be tempted to try and buy track day insurance, as the Ring isn't classed as an oraganised track day but a public road. I made this mistake the first year I went and basically wasted £120 on insurance that was worthless.

The safest bet is to hire a dedicated ring toy over there which is covered under German insurance. Otherwise you're simply not insured :'(

I work in insurance and have tried to dig up some statistics of how much German car insurance companies pay out each year for claims involving the Ring because I'd be interested to know just how viable it is for UK insurers. No results yet though!
