Ive just done a fairly long journey in the Fabia but noticed a whineing noise from the engine when the revs are decresing form 2000 to around 1500.Is this normal?Ive never noticed it before perhaps with the radio being off i could hear things for once.When it happens im not using the throttle just allowing the engine to lower revs without braking.Am i being paranoid over something that doesnt exist?

mine sounds like a plane. it's just the engine breaking. (not as in blowing up breaking lol)

Probably gearbox whine on over-run. Most do it to some degree.
