Finally got round to cleaning the car...

Featured Replies

With the arrival of the nicer weather (possibly), I dragged the old hosepipe and cleaning products out of the shed yesterday and spent the best part of 3 hours giving the car a thorough scrubbing inside and out, the results looking something like this:

Much better, I hadn't cleaned it for probably about 4 months, as it gets filthy so quick in the crap weather. All in all I'm quite pleased with the results - I have a habit of grabbing the A-pillar to heave myself out of the car and I know it's looking shiny when I find myself wiping off any trace of a handprint, hahaha!

Looks nice, and like the reg No.

Must clean mine........

Very nice

It would take me more than 3 hours to clean my car as good as yours. Well done.

Shiny :)

Looks good mate, come and do mine! lol

Looks good.

I loathe cleaning the alloys!

nice looking car, plate looks good too

good pics

Very nice

Ever thought of getting your alloys coated white and lowering a tad? IMO you would officially be cruising round in the muts nuts if you did that. :)

I need to clean mine at some point.

Good pics by the way

If you used a hose to do it, as I did, was it frozen up this afternoon, mine still was?

edit: just noticed you said it was done yesterday, oops.

PS. I love your number plate.

Hi mate, thanks! I recently toyed with the idea of getting the alloys coated gold... dunno if it might look like I'm going for a Scooby type look though but I think it'd look good! How much would it cost to get em coated do you know? I like the idea of white too!

As for lowering, I agree it would look better lowered slightly - I'm not a big fan of the slammed to the deck look and I think there's too many speed bumps popping up everywhere anyway. I think lowering by about 35mm would be the option I'd go for and maybe a rarb too, but I'm loathe to mess with the car in any way to be honest, I'd prefer to keep it standard... However, the thought of it handling better is tempting as it does roll a bit on bends...

Coated £270-£330 depending on what you have done DSC00039.jpg I would be carefull though posting your Reg on the net , you can get your car cloned and start getting parking or speeding fines for somebody else!

I've found the best thing to use on the exhaust mate (and this might be slightly unorthodox) is a brillo pad (on the inside parts of it anyway). Brings it up amazingly shiny and removes even the most stubborn traces of soot.

leave the wheels as they are.

I'm with you Mikey I reckon the Fabia VRS WRX would be a winner

I've even done another, more personal, mock up for you (and yeah it is was just a very quick one!)

In fact - i'd even go as far as to donate my set of track wheels to the cause

Oh and race blue looks fantastic when it's clean, it;'s such a shame my mothers is always absolutely filthy! :giggle:

Mate that looks awesome, thanks very much for doing that for me... Dammit, I'm soooooo tempted to look into this further!!!

its somewhere between a clio williams and an imprezza :)

As i said i have a set of wheels going spare

colour them how you see fit

if you like them - just pass your silver ones back to me

if you don't like it you can just put the silver ones back on and give me the gold ones backlol

ok you'd loose the powder coating cost but lifes a gamble! :giggle:

or buy a single one and get that done as a tester then commit to the full set once you find a colour that fits!

also found this of race blue and white in the alloys thread
