Vrs autochanger

Featured Replies

Hi does anyone know why my cd changer sometimes skips when playing CDs, I thought there mite be some dust inside or something. Also after putting the changer magazine in the slot the display says CHK MAGAZINE. Nothing in the manual says anything about it

It sometimes does this when there's dust in there. It will also display CHK MAGAZINE if you put a whole new lot of CDs in there and replace the magazine - it needs to work out which slots have CDs and which don't before it starts playing them. The OEM changers won't play Mp3 CDs and can be funny about playing copied CDs too.

To clean it, unscrew it from the side of the boot and take the magazine out, then give the changer a shake just to check there's nothing loose in there, if thats ok then stick a hoover with a small nozzle attachment in there and hoover out any dust. Finally run a lens cleaner CD through it once.

If that doesn't do the trick then the changer may be on it's way out - if you keep an eye on ebay they come up every now and again for about £60-80, they are the same model for the Audi A3, Seat Leon and Mk4 Golf.
