Hello everyone

Featured Replies

Just signed up and making this my first post. I have a new black 54 octa vRS. Planning on modding it in the future but for now my hands are tied by the warranty. Looking forward to reading opinions and experiences of all the vRS owners on here anyway.

I've had a few discussions in the uk.rec.cars.modifications newsgroup which is where the vRS was pointed out to me. So far I like it, one or two niggly things that bug me but overall i'm happy.

Hi and Welcome. what are the niggles. BTW is it a good idea to show your reg. It makes no difference over here really but in the UK it makes a huge difference, doesn't it? Regards David

I wonder myself, i've nothing to hide and don't see how it could be any more of a problem than in everyday use. I mean it gets seen by anyone who looks at the car anyway so is there a good reason not display it really?

I've amended the image anyway. The niggles are mainly the boot door when its raining, it's unusable unless everything inside is water proofed. Also the carpet colour is ridiculous, it might look good in glossy brochures but its impossible to keep looking anything but grubby unless the owner has an uncontrollable cleaning fetish. Other little things are squeaky brakes, especially in reverse, and a squeaky brake pedal but they're minor things which i'll get sorted at the dealer when I can be bothered. Oh and the driver side windscreen washer jet which would fire straight over the roof but hits the back edge of the bonnet so does manage to wet the screen in a round about way, that's something they supposedly fixed at the dealer but obviously didn't. I looked and cant figure out how it works - there isn't any obvious nozzle to adjust but it was dark last i looked which didn't help.

Other than that everythings fine. :D

oh man, tell me about it. Every car i've ever had has been modified, usually I do the suspension and brakes first, braided hoses and the like, then the engine. I'll not bother with nitrous in this one.

I've been looking at jabba's 350 stage 2 kit but I reckon that's gonna wreck the car's running gear for sure without some extensive upgrades to the drivetrain.

Welcome Johny

Seems the Octavia drivers are making a comeback after a sudden influx of Fabias :D
