new octy 4x4

Featured Replies

Hi there,

For what it's worth - I never buy the same car twice as I like to move on & try something else but as my ownership of the Scout nears the end (70+K Miles & 3 years) I have to say I will certainly think about buying another (preferably with the CR if they have one buy July/Sep).

I think it's been a fantastic motor (my first Skoda) & have to agree with many statements on here - owning a Skoda is like sticking 2 fingers up at the bullshlt brigade!

They don't ooze charisma, nor do they appeal to anybody who have bought into the premium sector but they hold their own & are good honest & in my opinion simply reliable & good value for money. I think the new FL is very subtle & just enough.

If your reading this & are thinking about buying one - do it - you won't regret it 4x4/scout they're the same it's just personal preference.

Yup, this is how I feel about mine! Perhaps I'm cynical after working in the automotive industry for a few years, but for me, the only real difference between Skoda/Seat/VW/Audi are trim level. The further up the range you go, the more kit you get as standard (some are nice useful touches like rear LED lights etc) and the more shiny chrome bits/soft furry bits are fitted. If you think that kind of stuff is worth thousands then that's fine, I don't. I've spent plenty of time in an Audi A3 Sportline and I didn't see anything in it that made me want it over my Octy. In fact, in the back seat I could almost have been in my Octy, they are that similar, in terms of parts, mouldings, etc.

I leave my car in the middle of nowhere from time to time when hill-walking, I actually wanted a car which didn't draw too much attention to itself!

Well after much dithering today I have ordered my new car!

Went and saw Steve at rainworth skoda and test drove both cars. The 1.8 deffinatly had more beans but at heart i think im a diesel man, so went for the 1.9 tdi.

Also I may be doing a lot more miles shortly so the diesel makes more sense.

Ordered it in anthracite, with curtain airbags, 4 spoke+maxidot, spare wheel and cruise control.

Steve was a gent to deal with, didnt give me any BS and I feel that ive got a fair deal.

Now ive only got to wait 12-16 weeks for it......think it may drag by a bit!!!
