Bright green wheels....

Featured Replies

Quick question. I'm having my spiders powder coated this week and have a mad urge to get them done bright green like the car here,

http://www.iwsti.com/forums/gr-tires-wheels/162597-green-wheel-paint.html

and here

http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/443315-lime-green-wheels

Is this a totally stupid move and should I go with bog standard silver? The green wheels would be for the summer and I'd revert back to silver for winter. Any help - or photoshop images of a black Octy with green wheels would be welcome... :S

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :giggle:

you may want to check this Fabia thread which has the Spiders in green on a black Fab

et voila!

On a stickered up WRC yes

On a black VRS not sure but if you like the idea go for it.

NO lol

Get the inside doen green and then the face silver.

The alloy wheel place above Newport did similar on their van, looking face on it looks like the rims are silver with blue inside but closer and at an angle they look silver too.

Its an awsome effect, one way looks silver and another looked blue.

sweet

Any pics?

I would give it a miss, but that is me.....

Any pics?

Its hard to get a pic of the sparkles, you can only see them in certain light.

I've been a bit stressed at work of late and have now calmed down. Thanks for the advice everyone. Now the world is back in focus, I'm going to go for silver, even though every time I look at them, there'll be a small voice saying "You should have done the greeeen!".

I thought about this when I got mine powder coated:

Looks good. Maybe I just don't have the kahunas to get it done.

do them green. like you said you will wish you had afterwards. if ou cant get on with them then you can always just leave your silver "winter" alloys on for the summer.

get them done a nice bright green. dont get a dark green. i beleive kawasaki green is a stunning shade!!!!!

I know the colour you mean, as when the weather pics up Scarborough is flooded with thousands of bikes. In the sunlight, it looks amazing and people would see me from at least three miles away!

exactly my point. do it do it do it!!!!

I've been thinking about this. To make it work, I reckon the wheels would need to have less spokes and to be 18", otherwise it looks like a car I see round here. It's some crappy new Peugeot, with 14" alloys that he's had sprayed to match the car. It makes him look like he couldn't afford to do things properly so tarted up his normal wheels.

The black on black looks good on the Octy with the Spiders, but only if the car is lowered. The standard 17" wheels in whilte look too small on an Octavia, but fine on the smaller Fabia for example because it is a smaller car and the lower profile tyres make the wheels look even bigger.

If I were to make a statement with Suzuki green wheels, then 18" would be the way to go. If you're going to draw attention for something as bright as I had planned, then the Spiders just wouldn't cut it down on the seafront cruise here in Scarborough.

Your not mad! tyou just need putting down lol

I've seen the coloured theme done sooooo many times coming from a saxo forum.

I originally had mine powder coated orange a few years ago but matched it up with cage and other very small details.

If done right it can look good, otherwise a massive fail:

Again, I really like that. As you say, done in a certain way it looks pretty good. It won't be to everyone's taste, but then who cares? I spend so much of my working life being sensible, that every now and then the urge to do something like this builds up.

Orange & black.......

Sorry there are some things in life that are just plain wrong and Orange & Green alloy wheels are among them.

I agree that some things are wrong. Leggings on fat people, men eating quiche and French pop music spring to mind. Green and orange wheels however seem to be on my list of acceptable behaviour.

there is a guy round us with a black civic type r which runs kawasaki green rims threw winter and it does look pretty B) i say go for it

I'd perhaps go for a 'half-way' solution of having the inner spokes done in a contrasting colour - with green, maybe the spokes in a charcoal/anthracite?
