vRS Limited Edition

Featured Replies

I had put the vRS at the back of my mind as a contender as a replacement for my Impreza Turbo ... due, solely, to the fact that it looks like a Taxi Cab. Or, more accurately, they are used as Taxi Cabs ... yes, around here vRS's are used - cheap I guess?

However, I was walking through the Car Park at work and saw a rather nice looking one ... looked around it - nice metallic grey - with a nice looking interior. It had Limited Edition on the rear ....

For some reason the exterior looked less like a Taxi Cab than I remember .. is it different to the standard vRS?

The headlights, however, looked like the 'old style' ... but it was a 59 Plate so should be the FaceLift?

Are they worth buying? Can you still get them new - or have all been sold?

They did a limited run of 500 of the vRS in the grey that you saw. They are not the facelifted model, but they do feature the uprated leather interior (looks VERY smart)

Worth buying? Up to you I think.

I could be wrong (sure I'll be pounced on if I am) but I read that the L.E. was a way of shifting the last few of the previous models pre-facelift. They got on a register and gad as mentioned the funky internals and I believe L.E. badging on and in the car.

Plus for the record my car looks feck all like a taxi! :)

Waddya mean ugly wheels? I like the look of mine!

like wise i like my wheels as well they have grown on me.

BUT they a pain to clean :'(

dont they also have the new tsi engine in them with 210 bhp

i dont like the wheels either

I bought one 6 months ago from Meadens in Sway and have been very pleased. Mine is the TDI estate though. I know meadens had about 6 at the time.

Funny i went from Impreza WRX wagon to the Skoda and havent regretted it, although it doesnt have the driving ability of the scooby its better built, more comfortable and affordable to run in the current climate.

The Impreza was a stunning car to drive though

to right i love my wheels, till it's time to clean them, they take me as long to clean as takes to wash the rest of the car :S

I did like the look of the whole package of the Limited Edition I saw. Old shape though it is .....

The stunning Impreza would be missed badly I suspect ... even though the vRS is highly rated.

As the poster above said .... you need to get over the bland looks I guess? They look so anonymous ... why no style and flair Skoda?

Hi MrRee, just wondering if you have had a test drive in a vRS and how does the handling compare to an Imprezza? Hve you tried the diesel Imprezza or a Legacy (not the new model), how do they compare?

As for handling chaps, I don't feel it is as responsive or as "sharp" as my old Oct 1.8T VRS MkI, but it is still a nice car to drive, I have been amazed at 3rd gear onwards with this car, my first diesel, simply stunning. Added to the fabulous MPG I compare to the older zippier 1.8T I had.

I bought the LE for £17K brand new from a Skoda dealer, best VFM package I have ever had, I also preferred the headlight look of the Pre FL than then FL, although that is slowly changing, The Bolero is magificent, The leather seats in the LE are a different league to the normal leather ones I have seen, the wheels whilst not to everyones taste have grown on me (total PITS to clean), my view is down the line I will buy the 18" Neptunes/Zeniths to replace them. Finally, there is not a lot of Grey VRS out there or LE, when you see one it is good to see a "double take" from the other driver!

Price wise, some of the deals I have seen on DTD for a new VRS with leather, parking sensors (missing on LEs), 18" alloys that are nicer, are excellent.

The wheels are a pain and require a few hand/finger movements usually reserved for Gynaecologists (or fondly remembered from my younger days !!)........... :giggle:

The LE got the facelift interior in advance of the facelift (FL) vRS being released. Along with the colour, the unique leather seats and the wheels, it was a way of keeping the vRS selling until the FL became available. A unique package, but I waited to get a FL model, and paid the same amount.

I guess an LE would only be worth buying then if cheap?

Seems that a vRS with Leather and the FL would be a much better buy - at an even cheaper price?

Thanks .... I do prefer the FL Lights .... much nicer than the square ones of the pre-FL IMO.

MrRee,

Do you by any chance frequent Scoobynet under a raft of different guises?

You posting style seems suspiciously familiar.... ;)

Steve
