Anybody able to get paint codes from a registration plate?

I'm trying to find a decent front wing from a scrapper for our Polo but have recently found out that they came in Bright Green Pearl (LC6M) and Dragon Green Pearl (LC6P). To my eyes they look the same but I'm sure if I get the wrong one it will stick out like a sore thump :p

A breaker has a wing from a scrapped car but as the car has been dismantled they say they don't have the paint code but can tell me that the reg was S318DFC so is it possible to find out from that?
