Koni Golf coilovers on a vRS

Featured Replies

As above really. I've been offered some golf mk4 coilovers, so I'm guessing they'll fit the vRS without issue, but I've noticed that Koni don't offer coilovers for the vRS, so will they work? If so, what do I need to know etc?

Any advice? (apart from "those are crap, buy this etc..." If I don't get the coilovers, I'll just get new stock)

will the spring poundage not be different?

seriously don't get them.......

The VRS / Octy is the same floorpan as the golf but it is the weight difference that count's. The Golf suspension will cause your car to be very bouncy due to the fact the Golf suspension is softer.

The Octy suspension is fussy and the VRS is even fussier. Take my word for it as I have tried it before and had around 6 different suspension set up on the car.

This subject gets covered on a regular basis

The other issue is that the Golf suspension does not have the same drop link connectors( the anti roll bar links that join the ARB to the suspension ) on it that the VRS has, which is the same set up as the Golf R32, Audi S3 and Seat Cupra R.

Get the suspension that is designed specifically for the VRS.

At the end of the day it is your choice

minge!

Thought it was too good to be true, the suspension on the vRS is REALLY bouncy at the moment, not a huge fan!

put the golf stuff on mate and it will be even worse lol.

Like mark said, dont do it. LCR is prob your best bet but iirc they are the same price in most cases as the vRS stuff. just LCR is 20KG more poundage

Yep that is why most of us replace the original stuff.

Either Knoi FSD with H&R springs is a very good option and will lower the car around 15-20mm or go coilovers.

Problem with FSD's / Springs is the price is crazy and way more than a coilover setup.

As mentioned it's best to stick with kits that are specific for the Octavia to ensure the correct spring rates and fitment.
