Does anyone know what the two and a bit lines are on the rear drivers side boot window on the FL Octavia estate?

I thought it may be a de-mister but has not cleared any steam!

They are and they only work when the heated rear screen is on AFAIK

I thought they were the second radio aerial for the diversity function of the headunit.

In that case my Local Dealer is going to be Jackie Chan'd in the throat next time i see him as they have the same thing on the Superb Estate and he told me thats what it was.

Two antennas are used in 'divesity' radio systems. In this set up it basically gives the radio receiver a choice of two signals, so it can choose the strongest / best one.

So that answers a question I had not even thought to ask. Had just ignored them as just some the car must need.

Now i ask my self i that is the way they work if I have somthing on my roof and want to remove the sting from my room antena will it just use the side one and still give me a good signal?

Just showed my Dealer this thread.

His words - "Well i never knew that i always just assumed they were de-misters which is what i have been telling everyone. Looks like i need to ring a couple of people to put them straight. Cheers"

The second antenne (diversity and TMC) is located in the rear drivers side boot window in an estate. The hatch has them in the rear window. AFAIK since the introduction of the Columbus, must have been around 2008? (they also upgraded the stream to a 2 tuner unit at that point.)
