Intake air temperature sensor

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have got an 06 plate 2.0 TFSI VRS Octavia, currently the Check engine warning light is on, have had it checked with a diagnostic reader and have found the the intake air temperature sensor is reading -48, obviously this is not right. I am now just wondering where this sensor is in the engine bay to check to see if it is plugged in and the wiring is ok, and also how easy a replacement would be.

Any help would be great, thanks!!!

not 100% sure on petrol engine but IIRC on my tdi engine it is the unit with the wires plugged into it plumbed into the air intake tubing between the air filter and the turbo, just where the pipe goes along the back of the cylinder head.

Ian.

IAT sensor is right at the front of the engine bay. at the top end of the intercooler to throttle body pipe
