Should be getting my Superb Combi Next week. Have any one had problems with the Tyre size of 215/40-R18 on the Superb Combi? Seems little low profile for an estate. With the lower profile, how is the comfort and my worry of the tyre coming out during sharp cornering.

Your are worrying about the right subject. The Superb Combi (on 18") lost a tyre in the Swedish Elk Test. See this thread about this subject I posted last June.

My opinion: 18" is too much for the Superb, I wouldn't want such low-profile tyres. However, If you keep these wheels, it is very important keep your tyres inflated up too the right pressure (which has been raised by (I think) about 0.2 bar after failing this Elk Test).

All in your own opinion of course, Mr Goldfinger :)

But no, seriously, Rainsport2 - very good tyre. Especially at less than £90 from Camskill in 225/40/18.

Just my own opinion Steve

My Local tyre firm Knaresborough Tyres supply, fit , new valve, balanced, old tyres disposal and Vat for £108 per corner

I've 2 on order to be fitted next week.

No real issues with the ride on 225/40/R18 tyres. The suspension seems to cope with it quite well.

I've just worn out my first set of tyres and opted for Ultrac Sessantas. Quite excellent through standing water in the heavy rain on the motorway yesterday.

I have order as well Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 205/55 R16 W (94)

4 Tyres for £248 Pounds I think not to bad :)

Will write review when will be fitted

Does it worth to do tracking

I mean I do not get any problems with the tyres usage corners problems all same

Some people advice to do the tracking as it is new tyres will be

If the tyres have worn down equally and no edge of the tyre is more worn than the other, then the tracking would appear to be spot on, however it is always recommended to get the tracking checked if any of the following has happened:

Big pot holes or curbs driven over at more than 'walking pace'

Any front suspension parts changed (wishbones, bushes, struts or ball joints)

Steering wheel is not central.

Well, my Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's have finally reached the end of their life after 26,000 miles of happy motoring. One of the rear tyres failed the MOT this morning, so I have replaced all 4. I'm so happy with the Hankooks I've gone for exactly the same tyres and would recommend them to anyone.

All in all the comfort, economy, performance (in both wet and dry conditions) have been excellent so I see no reason to change, and at £130 per tyre they are considerably cheaper than the Continentals that the car came with - and perform in a far superior way (in my humble opinion).

I use Camskill.co.uk The saving is not marginal, it is MASSIVE !! If you have access to an Irish VAT number it makes it even better, all you have to do is find a nearby tyre shop that is willing to fit tyres you havn't bought from them. 15 - 20 euros a corner should cover it, I use Portarlington Tyres.

Last year, I bought some Conti tyres from Camskill for my motorhome and they were the cheapest source I found. The tyres arrived without issue. They seem to have a good selection of tyres avaialble most times of year, including winter tyres.
