Engine cover

Featured Replies

After my cars last trip to the garage there was a funny rattle. Looked under the bonnet and they have broken the engine cover...

Tried complaining but they did the usual not us line. So i had a little look myself and found that on the underside of the cover there is a stopper lid for the oil filler. Now is it ok to run the car without the engine cover and this stopper in place? Obviously this stops the rattleing because there is no cover but i don't wanna do anything before i know it won't cause any damage.

Thanks

im not sure about the 1.4 but i know on the 1.2 6v you cant run it without the engine cover because the air filter assembly is built into it...

the stopper that you mention, is that the oil filler cap that u are talking about? or did you mean to say oil filter?

if its the oil filler cap it needs to be inplace

is this your engine?click me

yeah that is my engine. yeah the little stopper is a cap. but i wasnt sure if it was just to be used when you have the cover off to clean it or something ike that.

yeah if its the filler cap to the left of the skoda badge on the that pic then yes it defo needs to be fitted when driving, but im sure it will still fit on to the engine if the engine cover is removed... may be mistaken thou... try it and see :)
