07 VRS Diesel DPF removal & Remap

Featured Replies

Has anyone had the dpf removed and a remap carried out on the octavia 2 vrs diesel? Mine has 45k on the clock and is having issues with the dpf and back pressure sensor. I have a quote for a remap from ECU flash in Yorkshire and the local garage can remove the filter. Never had a remap before but this seems the only way to solve the problem with the dpf for good. Also would appreicate any advice rgds the remap ie what remap stats could/should be done so as to increase performace but not cause any excess damage?

Spoke to Jabbasport a couple of days who said there was something in the pipeline for this but wouldt specify costs etc but said should be in the next month.

Yours is the PD170 model isn't it? If so, a lot of companies REVO included have pulled their maps from sale due to the DPF issue. So I presume that a DPF delete and remap will be VERY popular indeed! Will it still pass the MOT without a DPF?

Custom Code sell a Milltek DPF delete pipe for the PD170 and a remap to match. The upside is they claim 240bhp(!) and a 15% improvement in fuel economy.

The downside is the package is £800

Reports on SeatCupra.net and UKMkIVs are very, very, positive.

Yes.

We do the maps (and 240bhp is definitely not correct) but don't supply the pipe. Our customers usually cut the original DPF open to keep the OEM look.

ABP have dyno plots showing 185 before and 240 after. Obviously, rolling roads and engines do differ, but the restriction from the DPF is supposedly enormous. If you say you can get 35bhp from a straight remap then why is 65bhp from an exhaust upgrade and remap so hard to believe?

Because the injectors can't safely deliver that amount of fuel. Although I am more about safety than figures.
