Owner's Manual - Maxi Dot

Featured Replies

"Maxi Dot" is mentioned in many postings on this forum and the sales brochure I got last summer, yet I cannot find any reference to it in my owner's manual (sep 09 edition). Is this merely an editorial quirk or am I missing some important point?

I don't think the term "maxidot" actually appears in the manual, but the functionality is detailed in there. I found this odd too tbh, and felt it would have made a bit more sense to standardise on the name throughout all documents! Look around page 27, where it talks about the onboard computer.

Just checked my .pdf copy of the manual - page 27 refers to MFD (on board computer). This is Maxidot.

John.

Sorry SlimAndy - we seemed to have posted at the same time - but both with the same story!!

Both the pre and post facelift manuals refer to Maxidot as 'Information Display' (page 23 or page 26 in FL manual). The regular trip computer i.e. non Maxidot is referred to as 'Multi Function Indicator (onboard computer)' , page 18 or page 21 in FL manual.

Thanks for replies. MFD, MFI, ID, maxidot, trip computer, onboard computer ---- no wonder I'm confused.

I see these manuals are written in Chinese then converted to English... or as I call it Chinglish, as everyone is seeing its written in such a confusing way, why not have the rererence from say page 37 next to the article which it referes you to check on page 37, see how easy it is to write in chinglish....lol

I too somehow managed to change the "comfort" settings on my vehicle and for the likes of me I cannot work out how I did it or how to get it back to square one... will have to sit down with a cuppa and the manual I think.

Best of luck,

It seems we have to work these things out for ourselves.

When I was looking at a Blackline I asked if it had maxidot, dealer had no idea and sat me in one so I could decide for myself!

It did and does have it, as I'd never seen Maxidot myself I'm glad I went armed with the knowledge gained from this forum.

As for manuals I tend to read them for fun, but just sit in the car and play with every menu option to work out what can be done.

Only thing you can miss is press on hold sometimes.

Hang on this topic is 4.5 years old.........
