Mine is due in a few thousand so ringing round to get prices. Does anyone habe a kit number and price from one they have had done on a '05 2.0 PD BKD engine?

I have been quoted 2 prices for the kit : £163.99 or £110.18.

The labour charge is either 4 or 3 hours....

Thanks for any info. Stealer is coming back with a quote but I'd rather go indipendant since I know Skoda down here charge over £90 an hour!!!!!!

I'd try to get a price from your local TPS branch (Click Here) It probably isn't the same, but I was aware of at least 2 "kits" for the 2.0 TFSI. One is just the belt, the other included the tensioner & I think it was called a "repair" kit. There was a real financial advantage to you getting the complete kit as opposed to buying all parts separate. TPS should be able to confirm this, as well as what each kit includes. Locally the labour quote was exactly the same whether they simply did the belt; or swapped the lot inc the water pump, and it was booked as 3hrs flat.

OK, Skoda came back to me : a reasonable price lol:

Cam belt kit (belt, tensioner and couple of rollers - obv very expensive ones) £174.75 - part number :03g198119

Book time to change 3.5 hours

Total price for the job £503

they dont if you turn up on the counter, £96.67 + vat, its what most people on here do and would save you £60 odd

and before the mods jump on me just trying to save you a few quid as i know how expensive these are or failing that try jorily and ask him to price you a genuine kit, nice bloke and you wont be disappointed in the service

it probably differs from centre to centre, we have a gentlemans agreement with the dealers that any retail customers we pass to them and vice versa with trade, but i dont care so long as there ok on the phone/counter i serve them anyway

Does the VAG 2.0 TDI CR engine have a 4yr timing belt change interval like the PD version?
