Cornering lights warning

Featured Replies

The Cornering lights warning has started to flash when I turn the ignition on. This is odd as my Roomy does not have cornering lights. :S Does anyone have any thoughts to a solution. The alternative is to take it back to the local dealer - at what price!

So you don't have foglights? Or you don't have turning headlights?

I mean that mine Roomster has cornering foglights and turning headlight.

Which one you mean?

Foglights? Haven't mentioned foglights as I don't have foglights either!!

The warning light that flashes is for Cornering lights (page 56 in the manual), not Fog lights with integrated turning light (page 57 in the manual).

The point is well made in the initial post.

Erm it was a sensible question as you can have cornering lights via the foglights or you may have a the AFS headlight that has the cornering function built in. So you shouldn't be so sarcastic when someone is trying to help.

With regards your query how old is your car. If it is less than 3 years old then take it back to the delear as it will be fixed FOC.

If no whereabouts in Cheshire are you? I will be up that way this weekend and have VCDS if you can't get access elsewhere

 Well, at last the warning light saga has come to an end!

It has taken two visits to the garage.

At first the technicians were baffled as they quite rightly noticed that the car does not have cornering lights (main or fog). That meant they had nothing on the diagnostics to amend. The second visit followed up a response from the Skoda Technical Department who suggested that part of the problem might have been to do with the battery.

Anyway, the nuisance has gone and all is right with the world :D

Many thanks for the responses.

Sorry for the delay in replying, I got stuck in Naples along with a load of other people! Thank goodness for easyJet, they did us all proud...

The warning light problem appears to have been battery related. I cannot now recall the solution process but the technician did say that at some point the battery had been allowed to flatten completely. This may have happened whilst the car was in for repairs.

Returning from our prolonged stay in Italy I had to put the car on charge again as the engine only just turned over. At first it showed a 50% charge and did not then want to go higher than 75%. I took the car to a local garage and they have confirmed that their Bosch battery tester indicates a cell fault. They are sourcing a new battery for me.

Hopefully the new battery will put an end to the saga. The local garage specialises in VAG and they commented that odd warning lights will show if there are battery/earth points and terminal problems.

Otherwise the car is fine - a run to Leeds and back on Sunday gave 61mpg at a fairly steady 60/5 mph.
