Tordoff massively better than Neate. Good first 2 races for Plato!

  • I'll always support Plato purely because he winds people up but has the skills to back it up, unlike a certain Chris James who has blocked me on Twitter. I didn't say word to him either With Turkingt

I think Rouse is a great driver but his numbers are flattered by the fact that his second title was inherited due to politics  and his 4th was almost a given since he had the only turbocar in the top

At least 8 fast rear wheel drive cars. How long before the rules are changed to handicap them more?

Cammish splits with Dynamics after rumours that Honda are withdrawing works backing.

Maybe Matt Neal will delay his retirement now to partner Dan Rowbottom in the Honda's?

Also Jelley has the 3rd WSR seat and Rick Parfitt Jr the 4th Hyundai.

Plot thickens at Dynamics.

Flash Shedden coming back to BTCC.

  • 2 weeks later...

Neal takes sabbatical. Dan Rowbottom to be team mate to Shedden.

Indeed Honda + Yuasa have pulled support for Dynamics.

In other news Nic Hamilton somehow has retained a seat at Team Hard Cupra, and Plato has a new team mate.

No Andrew Jordan again? My teenage granddaughter’s favourite after she sat in his car in the pits a few years ago

Last year he said he couldn't afford to race for WSR even though the seat was available for him. He's building up his own business I think, and didn't want the financial risk.

...and to be honest I think having 2 number one drivers at WSR actually reduces their chance of winning the driver title.

Champ Sutton on pole for race 1 at Thruxton.

Champ Sutton spun round out of the lead on lap 1 by Turkington.

Filthy move.

Pleased to see he got a penalty.

Sutton amazingly got from 29th up to 10th in the rest of the race.

Just seen the start of race 2.:o

Awful smash.

Andy Neate has long been out of his depth in BTCC.

Alan Gow surely has the power to bin incompetents from his series?

At minimum, the Tidy One owes Jade and Glynn a new shell each. Kudos to Jade for counting her limbs, and then worrying more about Glynn than about herself though.

Exciting day at Thruxton then.

How on Earth does Sutton go to the back in 2 races yet still end up only 10 points off the championship lead?

Great comeback day for Plato. Shedden mega quick too.

Looking forward to the next 27 rounds!

Exciting racing at Snett. Shame I was too busy to go, getting COvid Jab #2.

Wins for Turk, Sutton and Ingram (Hyundais first BTCC win)

Championship top 3 now Ash, Tom, Colin covered by just 5 points after 6 races.

Agreed.

OK, I don't read @r$ebook or tw@tter feeds, but I'm inclined to say that, if what we said was the least of what he took, the trolling the Tidy One got was mostly self-inflicted. Jade made her point (eventually; I knew she could), Glynn and Jessica Hawking both managed to finish all 3 races in at least the sort of positions the Tidy One would get on a good day.

Disaster for Turkington at Brands Hatch. Out of the possible haul of 67 points, he scored just 2, and that on a weekend where BMWs won 2 races out of 3 and got a 3rd place in the other event.

What was going on? Whatever the issues, he's dropped 39 points off the championship lead and 36 off second place.

Looking to see him bounce back at the next meeting.

Pretty much so yeah.

His weekend off seems to have done the Tidy One some good, in that he's not causing shunts that ruin other people's weekends atm.

Jake Hill emerging as a serious contender in the Mark Blundell Ford Focus. Suttons lead shrunk a little at Croft. Championship contenders nearly always struggle with weight in qually at Silverstone though so they may find the next meeting difficult

Utter BS from the stewards robs Ingram of race 2 win at Donington.

WIth by far the fastest car he tore up from 11th to 2nd, then got blocked repeatedly by Shedden's slower Honda.

Flash finally brake tested him, there was minor contact, Tom went through and the Stewards ruled he'd "pushed to pass", ironically the manoeuvre that gained so many wins for Halfords Honda in previous years.

I bet the Hyundai team are fuming. Its certainly reminded me of my long dislike of Team Dynamics.

So apparently the TIdy One is retiring; not before time! And Jade got her own back on him :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Great job from Sutton at Brands - 2 sensible drives to wrap up the title, then let himself off the leash to dominate race 3. What a champion he is.

  • 1 month later...

Champ Sutton in shock switch to Ford alongside Dan Cammish.

3 times champion Ash Sutton has moved to Motorbase Ford NAPA Racing, taking the core of his technical team over there too.

Olly Jackson and Sam Osborne have the other 2 Motorbase seats.

Not sure where this leaves the Mark Blundell team who ran the second pair of Motorbase cars last year.

Still at the back of the grid?
