Air conditioning does not seem to blow freezing air

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I seem to have a problems with air conditioning. Initially I thought that the container is empty as when I switch over to the cooling mode it behaves as the normal ECO blow.

Skoda dealer did the job for me but I have not noticed any difference. The air should be much more cold in the cooling mode that in the ECO one.

Did anyone of you have a similar issue on your cars?

I would be grateful for any comments.

Many thanks

Yaro

If you get the system re-gassed by Quick-Fit, they offer a deal of a guarantee to get it 5 deg C cooler, if not then the job is free. So it might be worth a shot.....

The job was already done by Skoda dealer but the temperature the system breathes out in the cooling mode is not as coold and it used to be. Previously I had the top up done with the same Skoda dealer

Mine had an O-ring fail on the condenser, so when it was re-gassed it worked fine for a while then lost its gas again!

Does it make a gurgling noise? Mine did that when gas pressure was low.

Agree, try these guys as you won't pay if the results are no better.

Well worth it. Was £49 when I did it and mine get's very cold now.

My air conditioning does nor make any noise or any odd sound. Otherwise I would ask for further checks on air con. I have to go back to Skoda and ask to check that O-ring thing. Otherwise I do not know what else to do...

take it to your dealer and they should be able to diagnose the problem. mine was the same. had 2 sensors that had gone and needed replacing. after paying to have that done, the compressor was found to be dodgy too. yet to have it fixed.

Maybe the clutch has dropped off the air-con pump?

How much did it cost you to have done the whole lot?

Thanks

it cost nearly 300, kinda regret doing it tbh. but they couldnt tell if the compressor was working until these sensors were replaced. never really got round to sorting the dodgy compressor, from skoda they're damn expensive!

Check your local Yellow Pages for an automotive air con specialist; you'll be amazed how much cheaper they'll supply and fit the same part by not geting it out of a VAG stamped box!
