Picked up my 06 Octavia VRS a week last saturday and the dealer promised to send me the spare key as he'd misplaced it. I have a feeling I will never see it so am wondering if I can avoid dealer prices and get one elsewhere. Has anyone else done this, if so how much was it etc etc

The dealer should provide you with one free of charge. It's not your fault he misplaced the original and as the car should come with two keys get the dealer to sort it...
