Digital Spedo

Featured Replies

So I picked up our new Yeti SE earlier.

Pics will be posted in the relevant section shortly.

In the info display the digital speed is displayed in km/h (al other units in miles / mph).....anyone know how to either disable or change it to mph? Theres supposed to be an option in the setup menus - but doesnt seem to be there.

Also have the suggested gear display thingy...anyone know how to disable it?

Thanks in advance!

On a UK car the digital speedo is fixed to KMH, nothing at all can be done to alter this setting or remove it from the display. The reason is due to EU legislation which dictates that a car sold in the UK must by law display both KMH and MPH, as the speedo has no KMH marking the KMH is displayed digitally instead.

This is a regular question that pops in the Yeti, Octavia 2 and Superb 2 forums as they are all the same in having the Digital KMH display.

I have a Garmin satnav (Zumo 550). When I use it in the car (stuck to the windscreen) I find myself using its speed indicator which is in mph in preference to the normal speedo. I assume because it is closer to my line of sight.

Aha!! mannyo - thanks for your prompt reply!

As others have said with the digital speed. As for the gear indicator, I haven't seen a way to switch it off but haven't looked either! I haven't found it getting in the way and only see it when I look at it.

[Of course you could leave the SM in neutral or keep your foot on the clutch, gear indicator isn't there then... emoticon-0105-wink.gif ]

Digital gear indicator, put a piece of black sticky tape over it.

Hmmmm....the digital gear display thingy. Tape it might have to be, hate stuff like that....its distracting more than anything! No I will bear it and learn to ignore :peek:

BNo need to obsess about it. You will get used to not looking for it till you wonder what gear you are in. Focus ought to be out front, not on the MFD.

Just realized it - good acronym - don't go there, please, the admin will get after you.

Know what yoy mean, it is a bit distracting - I've learnt to ignore it in a similar way to Mrs Barstewards chatter first thing in the morning :D:D
