Estate Tyres

Featured Replies

I have the Mk11 Octavia Ambience estate 19.diesel owned from new and have 17" alloys the tyres are Goodyear Eagle F1 they have not worn very well and there is a lot of road noise, they are due to be changed very soon can any one recommend a good hard wearing tyre

What kind of mileage did you get from the Goodyears? I'd a similarly powered Passat estate and I was lucky to get 14,000 miles from the fronts and 17000 miles from the rears. Tried various makes, premium, middle range and latterly cheapish Chinese Touring tyres, there was little difference in anything I tried.

17,000 out of a rear pair of tyres?

Bloody hell! I have a 2.0 TDI PD 140 and the last set of rears got changed at 32,000, and the current pair look good up to 60,000 odd (they've done nearly 20K!)

Michelin Pilot Primacy HP

Michelin Pilot Sport 3

Michelin Pilot Sport 2

Michelin Pilot Exalto

See the pattern? On 17s, with a 1.9, I'd probably go for the Primacy HP. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Assuming you geometry is right, they'll last pretty much till the end of time on the back and a hell of a long time on the front.

I've got the Exaltos on the rear of my vRS (18s) and they've done 32k and have 5mm tread left.

If you don't buy Michelin, at least do yourself a favour and don't waste your money on Bridgestones.

Hi wega3k are the Michelins you sugested reinforced.

There is a known isue with the estate and its rear geometry causing premature tyre wear. Skoda revised the setting to compensate for the tyre wear. I got near 40K from a set on the back of my old octy.
