How to dim dashboard lights?

Featured Replies

I have just got a Fabia 3 estate (1.9 tdi) and despite having been through the manual I cannot see how to dim the dashboard / instrument lights. Last night driving home they were distractingly bright? Any proper controls on this??? Or is there a gizmo I can fit?

Cheers

Firstly welcome to Briskoda

If fitted the dashlight brightness control will be next to the master light switch on the lower right of the dashboard.

Next to the headlight switch should be 2 thumb operated wheels, one of these adjusts the headlighs up/down and the other adjusts the dash brightness.

There isn't one on the new fabia to adjust the brightness, I dont know if the dealer can adjust them using the convinience module. They are very bright but you get used to them though I do think that it makes the headlights seem poor as there is too much light in the cabin?

I kinda guessed that my car doesn't have the button... but what's a convenience module and can I get at it ? What else does it set up (if I'm going back to the dealer I might as well think laterally). S.

Its accessed through some vw software from what I understand. I don't know if they can be dimmed but that is the only place I can think of due to a lack of a wheel to turn the brightness down. The other things which can be turned on/ off are one button to unlock all doors or press once to unlock drivers door and twice to unlock the others. Also the anti hijack where the doors auto lock above 5 mph and unlock when taking the key out of ignition.
